The COVID-19 pandemic has changed our world and upended all of our lives. Much of what most of us are experiencing— uncertainty about the future, difficulty obtaining basic resources—is what many in Rural Maryland communities are facing every day before this crisis.
Maryland Rural Development Corporation (MRDC) is a private non-profit organization that has been providing services in response to the needs of rural, low-income households and communities since 1979. Since 1986, MRDC has served as Caroline, Cecil, and Kent Counties as the official Community Action Agency.
Focused on the social determinates of health, MRDC creates and operates programs that align with specific needs of low-income rural communities in order to fight the effects of poverty and lift individuals, families, and communities into self-sufficiency.
